AceTech Bifrost | My Thoughts
Howdy Boyz & Gurlz, for anybody who cares, here are my thoughts on the AceTech Bifrost.
First off, the Bifrost has the expected metal housing that has improved since the release of the Lighter and Lighter R. Now taking both ricochets and direct hits in stride with very few visible marks, dings, or scrapes.
Now for the meat and potatoes, how does the RAINBOW function work? In my personal experience, the Bifrost brightly and consistently lit up both regular white bbs, and green tracer bbs all colors of the rainbow. (Shown in pictures with white bbs)
In addition, the Bifrost, like almost every other AceTech Tracer unit, is rated to trace your bbs up to 35 RPS. However I can attest that the Bifrost has very few qualms tracing up to 70 RPS.
However, from what I’ve heard and seen from other Bifrost users, the quality control on this tracer unit has been lacking a bit. Several friends of mine complained that their unit didn’t light up their white bbs very well. What’s your experience been?
I can’t say all good about this unit. For one, in order to turn the unit on, or change the mode, you must remove the rear housing cap first, which often includes removal the entire unit from your Airsoft weapon. This can be a royal pain, I speak from experience.
In addition, the Bifrost is lacking in battery life. Obviously, this is partly due to the unit’s compact size and shape, but I still find myself needing to top off the Bifrost’s battery every few games or so. Especially when you are running both the tracer, and muzzle flash function together.
When all is said and done, I give the Bifrost a 7/10.
It’s super cool, but I feel like AceTech could improve this unit a bit more. As such, I bought one for myself, used it a few times, and I have since sold mine. More of a novelty item I suppose. Would recommend though.
Lemme know your thoughts 🤙🏼
