Hey HopUp Fam! Jon here from the support team! We’ve started to see a rise in scam attempts where you get a random text message from a number claiming to be a shipping carrier, such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. stating you need to go to a website due to an incomplete address, bad ZIP/postal code, etc. Please be aware that NO carrier will ever try to send you a text message about any package issues, and you should NEVER go to the link in such a text message should you receive one like this. If a package ever has a bad address, the carrier will make a best effort attempt to correct it themselves, or they will simply return the package to sender. They will never try to contact you, especially by text message, if there’s a shipment issue. Furthermore, we want to reiterate that your own contact information on your account is secured by industry-standard practices, and no buyers or sellers will receive your phone number from us, consistent with our privacy policy. We do not give your phone number to carriers on regular shipments, and instead, we give them our automated phone number. In addition to this, you should never give out your phone number to a stranger on HopUp. Always keep your messages within the app for the best safety and security. Lastly, we want to reiterate to sellers to ALWAYS double-check your buyers’ addresses. Some buyers have accidentally left out important parts of their shipping addresses, and if you buy a label through our app when there’s an incomplete address, the package will either be returned to you or our warehouse, and there could potentially be an additional cost to re-ship the package again. We also ask that all buyers double-check their shipping addresses before they ever submit any orders to help mitigate this issue. We want to make sure everyone has as smooth of shipping process as possible! If you ever have any questions or concerns, even if you potentially think an address might be invalid, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! We’re here to help and we’d always be happy to verify an address for you. You can also use USPS’ ZIP code validation system, available online, to verify a full street address. We hope you all have a LOVEly Valentine’s day! ❤️ 👉Finger guns👈 - Jon
