Description
I have up for sale or trade a Yukon optics Newton series Gen 1+ night vision optic with supurb clarity. It's under 6" long and definitely weighs less than a pound. It has a hard polymer housing with Rubber Armor surrounding parts of the monocular. I can vouch for its water resistance since I've actually had this mounted on my Airframe when I went boar hunting and night games. It does well against fog and mist and light rains do nothing against this. This actually provides some enhanced low light viewing. Ive noticed that I can spot fences and shapes in the dark without infrared that I cant see with my normal vision. For some reason though a good ir torch will GREATLY enhance the viewing capabilities of this monocular. From clarity to range. I can spot objects and shapes at about 500 ft away with a independent ir source. Both pics are taken by a Sony a6000 with a dbal and sightmark ir torch on full. Though second picture had fog and ambient lighting by neighbors lights. Either way. lasers and ir light comes in clear and sharp with this night vision once it's focused and set on what you want the range to be. I will send actual pics of unit and other night time pics I have like hog hunt and star gazing.
I had this mounted on my Airframe via Wilcox dovetail adapter to pvs 14 j arm 1/4 in screw. It has 1/4 in screwhole for mounting to gun or nvg mount. More than enough for airsoft or any other outdoor activity you may want to do.
The monocular comes with the original box and manual. A black carrying case and a cleaning cloth. It operates in 2x AAA batteries. i will include 6 new batteries with this. Battery life is practically 24 hours without using integrated ir. I tossed the day cap since it was worthless and in the way of a sacrificial lense I made of polycarbonate. The sacrificial lenses has already served its purpose and will not come with the night vision unless you'd like for me to do that.
Disclaimer
- This is not a automatic focused nvg. It's manually focused like almost all nigbt vision. So you'll have to mess around and read the instructions to get a good grasp on this monocular.
- It is not waterproof so don't go swimming with this.
- This is far from a gen 2 or 3 but it does have its advantages as being worth the money for all its use.
- Housing is a little dirty from use.
- Built in ir illuminator is alright, but I would recommend a good aftermarket independent ir torch
