Before WA was known for 1911's and other pistols, they started into the industry with a copy of the [Charter Arms AR-7 Survival Rifle.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ArmaLite_AR-7) which was based on Eugene Stoner's original AR-7 Survival Rifle, designed as an aircrew survival rifle. This model was WA's second attempt at designing and marketing an airsoft gun, after years of producing model guns & air guns. While their first version was based on the longer, and more recognizable AR-7, this second iteration is a CQB take on the concept with a heat shroud, and forward vertical grip. [1. Release date: October 26th, 1985 4. Power source: Gas, Non-blowback (Originally intended for R134a gas) 5. Feet per second (320-365fps w/ 0.20g BB's. Using Propane/ GG) 6. Hopup unit: None. Issues: Slightly leaky. Original fill valve failed and was stripped. Replaced with modern KJW fill valve. JB weld was used to secure the new fill valve into place (see photos) 9.
